I am a Greek lawyer, born and raised in Thessaloniki, Greece. I am licensed to practice law in Illinois, U.S.A., Greece, and the EU, obtaining my Greek law license in 1996 and opening my Thessaloniki based practice in 2000.
As a member of the Thessaloniki Bar Association (ΔΣΘ) since 1996, I have gained extensive experience in litigation, transactional matters, and mediation, assisting hundreds of clients along the way. I specialize in Greek Real Estate, Greek Inheritance, Greek Tax Law, Greek Commercial and Civil Law, as well as Greek Intellectual Property Law and Greek Family Law. I also have experience litigating a variety of commercial and business-related claims and liability matters.
Throughout my professional career, I have successfully handled a wide variety of cornerstone cases, creating in the process, significant legal precedent in the Greek Legal System. Some examples include: (1) battling fraudulent companies in a nationwide time-sharing scheme scandal; and (2) winning a landmark case against the Hellenic Mapping and Cadastral Organization, paving the way for hundreds of homeowners to reclaim their previously lost properties. I am also accredited in the USA and EU as a civil and commercial mediator, and have been involved in numerous successful courtside mediations.
In 2014, while maintaining the office in Greece, I moved to New York City and began assisting New York City litigants as a courtside mediator. I also earned a scholarship to the Cardozo School of Law’s L.L.M. program, but deferred enrollment to join the Law Office of George C. Xamplas, in Chicago, Illinois as a Foreign Legal Consultant. In my capacity as a Foreign Legal Consultant, I began assisting Greek American clients with their issues in Greece. In 2016, I sat for and passed the Illinois bar whereupon I began, and continue to practice international law within The Law Office of George C. Xamplas.
I live in Chicago, am married, and the proud father of two beautiful daughters. I am an active member of the Chicago Greek community and St. George Greek Orthodox Church, Chicago, IL. As a member of the Chicago Bar Association, I presented a seminar on Greek law and I co-host a bi-monthly radio program on Greek legal topics on a Chicago Greek radio program.
With a vast network of seasoned, specialized, and experienced professionals in all parts of Greece (fellow lawyers, real estate brokers, notary publics, civil engineers, architects, contractors, builders, accountants, travel agents), I am ready to handle even the most difficult or complicated cases.
